Something a Little Different for August Night Fishing on Dale Hollow
|
|
I have always enjoyed junk fishing and what I mean by that is getting one of those days that I like to try different methods and different baits. Most anglers relate to the Carolina rig as a largemouth technique and that is definately a fact. I took a time last year in August and rigged a Carolina rod looking for some big Green fish and that I found. A super good friend of my Mr. James "Coby" Hayes introduced me to a Gene Luru crawl that I got down at the Dale Hollow One Stop, color Electric Blue. I also picked up some straight black and rigged a Carolina rig with 14 lb main line clear blue flourscent with a 1/2 oz egg sinker, I used 2 glass beads above my swivel for the leader I added Berkley flouracarbon leader approx 20 inches long. I used a standard off set worm hook with my crawl. I laid the Garlic fish dope on the crawl thick as butter on cormbread....gee I'm country.... I went on the flats at Pulsey Creek and Kemper and also went to Suphur Creek state line sign and fished around the edges of the weed beds. I don't know why I hadn't done this a lot more because on dark nights you can catch lots of quality fish. If anyone gives this a try please let me know how yours success was. Sometimes things we do in the past we get away from it and thanks to my good friend Coby which is very ill right now, may our prayers be with him and hope he is feeling ok this week, we love Coby very much. Thanks for reading my blog and hope to hear a response from someone soon. If you have any comments I appreciate posting some info on www.dalehollowfishing.com because I want lots of prayers to get out there to as many people as possible for Coby. Thanks Bobby Gentry |
